What does Boulder Housing Partners do?

As the housing authority for the City of Boulder, we are committed to long-term affordability in our mission to provide housing for low and moderate-income members of our community. We currently rent over 1000 homes and provide rental assistance to an additional 600 households. We foster a healthy sense of community in every property we develop or manage.

Where is Boulder Housing Partners located?

We are located at 4800 North Broadway in Boulder, at the northeast corner of Broadway and Lee Hill Road. We are the last stop on the northbound SKIP bus route. What housing options does BHP offer?

We provide four housing options:

Reduced Rent Units
Families with qualifying incomes can apply to live in BHP's reduced rate units with affordable rents.

Public Housing Units
Families with qualifying incomes can apply to live in public housing and pay only a third of their monthly income for rent and utilities.

Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers
Families who qualify for Section 8 vouchers pay a third of their monthly income for rent and may choose to live in any unit where Section 8 vouchers are accepted.

Market-Rate Rental Units
BHP also owns a number of units that rent at the same level as typical rental units throughout Boulder. To rent a market-rate unit, please call Diversified Properties (a division of Boulder Housing Partners) at 720-564-4610.

Qualification requirements vary. Depending upon the option you choose, your household must earn between 30% to 80% of Boulder's Area Median Income (AMI). If you earn more than this, consider our market-rate rentals. To learn more please click on the above links.

Your rent is determined by several factors: what housing option you apply for, how much you earn and how many members are in your household. How long is the waitlist will I have to wait for housing?

Waitlists can vary from 6+ months to 6+ years, depending upon which program you are applying for. Please read about our housing options to learn more. Be aware that our subsidized waitlist is closed at this timeapplications for public housing are accepted for the month of February only.

Why was my name removed from the waitlist?

Families on our waitlist are responsible for notifying BHP with any changes in phone number or address. Your name may have been removed because you moved or changed your phone number and did not send us updated information. We regularly update our wait list, routinely removing the names of those applicants who do not respond to our requests regarding contact information.

Are pets allowed in BHP housing?

Our pet policy varies depending upon which housing option you choose.

How can I get a Boulder Housing Partners housing application?

Public housing applications are accepted only during the month of February. During February you may come by our office during office hours and fill out a public housing application.

Property Tax/Rent/Heat Rebate Form 104 PTC is available from the Colorado Department of Revenue. Call 303-238-3278 or 800-240-0247. Forms may also be available at www.revenue.state.co.us
