Job description:
The bi-lingual Service Coordinator in this term position will work with the
families in 6 public housing sites to move the families toward financial self-sufficiency
by referring them to the Family Self-sufficiency program for case management
and educational and job training assistance. Duties include marketing and outreach
to families and individuals, community building activities within the communities,
identification of community needs and resources to assist families in becoming
self-sufficient and working with individuals, using navigation activities, to
promote access to the available services. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree
in social science or related field or two years experience working directly
with culturally diverse people to improve their life conditions. Bi-lingual
in Spanish and English required. Bi-cultural preferred.Knowledge of the local
human service community desired. Skills in verbal and written communication
and group facilitation desired. Job offer is contingent upon a criminal background
check. Aps accepted thru 9/26/08. This is a grant funded, term position through
