The Housing Authority Insurance Group(HAI) serves public housing authorities, 501(c)(3) nonprofits, affordable housing providers, low-income housing and multifamily apartment owners under the low income housing tax credit program with special, niche insurance programs.

Annually the HAI Risk Control Committee recognizes achievement in public housing risk management. The prestigious Best Practices Award is given to the member who has practiced risk management in an effective, beneficial manner.

This year, Boulder Housing Partners (BHP), received an Honorable Mention for development and initiation of their "Bed Bug Procedures". The written "Bed Bug Procedures" were created in 2010 to combat and manage bed bugs according to an integrated pest control management concept. Since its creation, BHP's "Bed Bug Procedures" have reduced infestations, built internal and external relationships, increased resident participation and cooperation, and introduced a budget for bed bug treatment.

2011 CoNAHRO Resident and Client Services Award

Colorado National Association of Housing & Redevelopment Officials have given BHP's Kalmia Community Lab: Linking Residents to Technology, the Resident and Client Services award for 2011.

2010 NAHRO Commissioner of the Year

BHP Board of Commissioners member Betty Hoye received the Commissioner of the Year award. She served as a commissioner for 20 years, chairperson for 10 years and retired in April 2010. She served on the finance committee and played a lead role with her background as a CPA and auditor. She was an influential leader during BHP's development of tax credit housing and non-HUD housing.

2010 NAHRO Administration Innovation

The BHP Web site received the Administration Innovation award. The award winning Web site features information that user groups find super friendly. These include: vendors and development partners looking for RFP's; job seekers looking for job postings; the public looking for BHP policy and governance information and general information about Boulder Housing Partners.
