Kalmia is a 55-unit community consisting of 6 one-bedroom apartments, 32 two-bedroom townhomes, and 17 three-bedroom townhomes. All of the apartments are part of our Public Housing Program. BHP pays for the utilities used at Kalmia, helping residents reduce their expenses. Located one block away from the intersection of Kalmia and 28th Street, this building is close to public transportation and shopping centers. Kalmia provides an economic and easily accessible laundry room located within the premises. This community is also home to a community center where Boulder's Youth Services Initiative and other local organizations organize activities for the children living at the site. In addition, with a playground and a common open space area, this building is perfect for families with children. Pets accepted with written prior landlord approval.

Nuggets, BHP Donate Basketball Court
September 19 - Nuggets Community Ambassador Ervin Johnson, SuperMascot Rocky and members of the Denver Nuggets Dance team joined Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) to celebrate the dedication of a new basketball court at Kalmia apartments, a public housing property in Boulder, by placing the final tile on the court donated by the Denver Nuggets and Sport Court of Colorado.
Following the dedication, Johnson and other Denver Nuggets representatives conducted a basketball clinic for children in the community. This unique partnership was created by Jamie Miller, a former University of Colorado basketball player who now provides architectural services to BHP.

• Kroenke Sports Charities works to fill the needs of our community through support of education and recreation initiatives for underserved children and families. Since 1992, over $35 million has been donated to non-profit organizations in Colorado.
• Ervin Johnson is a retired NBA basketball player and currently a Community Ambassador for the Denver Nuggets. Johnson attended the University of New Orleans where he was named a third team All-American and Sun Belt Player of the Year. He finished college fifth in the nation in rebounding and is the school's all-time leader in rebounds, blocks and field goal shooting. Johnson was selected 23rd overall by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 1993 NBA Draft. During his 13 year NBA career, he played for the Sonics, Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Milwaukee Bucks. His commitment to the community earned Johnson the NBA Community Assist Award in 2003.
• Sport Court of Colorado is the elite builder of basketball courts, backyard game courts, school gymnasiums, and private and public tennis courts throughout Colorado.
• Boulder Housing Partners (BHP) is the housing authority serving the city of Boulder. BHP meets the housing needs of the community by providing affordable rental housing options. Boulder Housing Partners is actively engaged in increasing the supply of new affordable housing in Boulder through development and new Section 8 vouchers. BHP seeks to provide quality, affordable housing that incorporates a sense of community strength and spirit, and to help residents realize success in their lives and in our community.
