Foundation Awards in 2011
$5000 from the Excel Energy Foundation supports families in Moving to Work and becoming self-sufficient through life skills training, work readiness activities, financial literacy and computer education. This grant will help families to keep focused on career and educational goals. This grant will also support these families in creating healthy and safe communities in which to raise their children.
$10,080 was provided by the Temple Hoyne Buell Foundation to fund an early childhood education program, entitled The 3 Step Parenting Program. This 10 week program was provided to parents of children, age 3-5 years, in partnership with the Colorado Statewide Parenting Program, training the parents in in-home activities that have been shown to increase the educational success of their children in kindergarten.
$1000 provided by the April Fund, supports seniors and people with disabilities retain their housing when challenges occur in their lives.
$1000 from Wells Fargo helps to provide emergency homecare and housekeeping to seniors who desire to remain living independently in their own homes.
$2500 from the John Duncan Trust will provide the many support services in Senior Stay at Home program. Money is used for wellness programs that enable these residents to stay healthy and active in their homes.
$1000 from the Safeway Foundation supports the important programs of the Resident Services Department that keep families housed and moving forward in their lives.
$5,450 from Elevations Credit Union will help to fund a number of programs, including English as a Second Language classes at five of Boulder Housing Partners' low-income family sites, financial literacy classes, and printing equipment to help residents with the paperwork required for the housing recertification process.
$1,000 from Precision Plumbing will be used to provide emergency support services for people with disabilities and seniors who need housekeeping services to remain living independently in their homes.
$4,500 grant from US Bank will provide broad capital support for Boulder Housing Partners' service- enriched, affordable housing efforts and help to fund its affordable development projects.
