Planning for the Redevelopment of
3120 Broadway

NEW HOUSING PLANNED
FOR FORMER OFFICES

The completion of Phase I of the preliminary feasibility and design process for the redevelopment of Boulder Housing Partners’ (BHP) former offices at 3120 Broadway is drawing to a close with a plan that includes the following:

26 one, two and three bedroom units in a three story apartment building; Underground parking; and a Laundry room.

AND, MAJOR REHAB OF THE
EXISTING UNITS ADDED TO PROJECT

The existing housing on the Broadway site was built in the early 1980’s and has been continuously occupied since completion. This very popular site is in need of updating and repair to insure that it will be available to low and moderate income households for many years into the future. The preliminary rehabilitation plan will include the following:

Substantial rehabilitation of the interiors of 44 two and three bedroom units; Repair and replacement of the exteriors of all 6 buildings; Repair and replacement of doors, windows and stairs; Rehabilitation of the laundry room; Reconfiguration of the parking lot; and Replace 2 units with the construction of a new 3,000 sqft community center.

UPCOMING PROJECT BENCHMARKS

November 7, 2005 Board of Commissioners meeting Consideration of final plans for new affordable housing at 3120 Broadway and rehabilitation of the existing multi-family housing

November, 2005, 2nd Qtr, 2006 Project Planning Draft development review application for Site Review and Subdivision and submit applications for federal tax credits, grants and other financing.

December 5, 2005 Board of Commissioners meeting Update on project planning

February, 2006 Submit applications to City of Boulder for Site Review and Subdivision

- Invite BHP's Project Planner to meet with you and your neighbors to discuss the project.
