Concept 3

Concept 3 consists of a site plan where the new units are located in a more compact three story, elevator accessed building. The site plan differs from the Concepts 1 and 2 in that there is both surface and underground parking. The mostly underground parking structure under the new apartment building includes 30 parking spaces. The existing surface parking would be reconfigured and include 27 parking spaces for a total of 57 spaces. There is a total of 24 new dwelling units. Six new units are located on the ground floor. There are nine units each on the second and third stories. All of the units are located off a central hallway. A core area is located in the middle of the ground floor of the building that consists of the elevator, laundry room, stairs, lobby, and entrance and exit from the underground parking. In this concept, the community center, approximately 3,000 sqft in size, is located at the northwest corner of the building near the bus stop. The community center will include a computer lab, meeting room, after school study areas for residents as well as offices and storage for on-site training programs. This design is three stories, one story higher than the two story units to the south but similar to the existing apartment units on the site and a little higher than the North Boulder Recreation Center.
